Jenny Cheong

Ms. Cheong is a multi-talented musician who is a cellist. a pianist, an organist and a conductor. Jenny Cheong is the recipient of the Yo-Yo Ma Scholarship and Music Scholarship from Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra. Jenny also received an Excellent Piano Performance Award at the piano competition provided by the Korean National Music Education in Seoul, Korea when she was 10 years old. Jenny Cheong completed B. Mus. in Cello Performance at McGill University; M. Div.; M.T.S. in Church Music specialized in organ and choral conducting at University of Toronto, Trinity College with John Tuttle; and M Mus. in Cello Performance at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Music with Shauna Rolston. Jenny is currently continuing her studies in Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance at University of Toronto, Faculty of Music. Jenny has also studied with Joowon Kim, Yegor Dyachkov, Brian Manker, and David Hetherington.

She has been the pianist/organist and the choir & youth Orchestra conductor in Toronto since 1998. Her highlight includes conducting Global Youth Leaders Youth Orchestra ( In addition, since she obtained her M.T.S. in Church Music in 2011, she has been the organist of various churches in Ontario.  Ms. Cheong is currently the concert co-ordinator and the conductor of Vocal Ensemble & Willowdale Children's Choir ( at St. John's Anglican Church in North York. Jenny has been the Principal Cellist of North York Concert Orchestra since September, 2017. Jenny's hobby includes skating and skiing, and she loves to watch Korean dramas.
